Abstract:

BACKGROUND: Oxytocin is the most consumed medication in modern midwifery. The consumption of oxytocin in inducing and strengthening delivery in delivery wards requires an efficient method for making use of this medication with maximum effect and minimum side effects. In this regard, this study has been conducted aiming at comparing the effect of two methods of prescribing oxytocin in inducing delivery on the duration of stages.METHODS: The present study is of a clinical trial kind with three-blinded parties which was conducted in 2010 on 120 research volunteers who had the inclusion criteria. The samples were randomly assigned into two groups of control and experiment. The data collection means consisted of a questionnaire and a checklist. In order to analyze the data, the SPSS software, version 17, Student T-test and Chi-square test were used.RESULTS: There was no statistically significant difference between two groups regarding the duration of the first and the first stages and the active phase. The duration of the third stage of delivery was shorter than the group which had stopped using oxytocin at the active phase. There has been no significant difference between the mean of oxytocin dosage from the initiation of the delivery induction till the active phase. The mean of oxytocin dosage has been significantly different between two groups during all stages of delivery so much so that this rate has been lower in the experiment group CONCLUSIONS: The results of the data analysis show that the continuation of oxytocin after the active phase not only does not have any advantage regarding the shortening of duration of stages and its cutting but also it leads to a decrease in the consumption dosage of oxytocin in the active phase and the second stage of delivery and on the other hand leads to a decrease in the side effects of the medication on mother and infant.

Abstract:

Purpose: Preterm birth is a leading cause of neonatal mortality and long-term health complications. Given the rising global incidence of preterm births and the inadequacy of current early detection methods, there is a pressing need for advanced techniques to improve prediction and prevention. The primary goal of this study is to design and evaluate a deep learning-based model using electrohysterography (EHG) signals for the early detection of preterm birth.Methodology: In this study, deep learning algorithms were employed to analyze EHG signals. The dataset included 262 cases of full-term deliveries and 38 cases of preterm births. The proposed method was evaluated using a cross-validation technique on four different datasets under two conditions: one with training and one without training.Findings: The results demonstrated that the proposed model achieved a high accuracy in detecting preterm birth, with an error rate of only 1%. These findings indicate the superior performance of the model in predicting preterm labor compared to conventional methods.Originality/Value: By leveraging deep learning and EHG signal analysis, this research introduces a novel and precise approach for detecting preterm birth. The findings can contribute to improving maternal health monitoring systems and pave the way for the development of more effective clinical tools for preterm birth prevention.

Abstract:

Environmental threat due to the pollution of water bodies by organic dyes, which can lead to the creation of a colored layer on the surface waters and prevent the penetration of sunlight into the waters, and ultimately disrupt the life of microorganisms. In addition to all this, due to their high toxicity, it has become a serious concern for the health of humans and animals. Recently, innovative treatments based on nanotechnology for wastewater treatment processes are increasing. In this study, a simple and safe method was reported for the efficient degradation of four organic dyes (bromothymol blue, eriochrome black T, methyl red and bromocrosol green) using Bi-doped ZnO nanoparticles under sunlight. Based on the performed experiments, the Bi-doped ZnO photocatalytic activity was better than the single ZnO semiconductor. The present study can be considered as an effective step towards the photocatalytic treatment of wastewater to remove dyes using sunlight as a renewable source of energy.

Abstract:

Sintunavarat and Kumam introduced the notion of hybrid generalized multi-valued contraction mapping and established a common fixed point theorem. We extend their result for four mappings and prove common coincidence and common fixed point theorem.

Abstract:

In this paper we discuss the fixed points of asymptotic CONTRACTIONS and Boyd-Wong type CONTRACTIONS in uniform spaces equipped with an E-distance. A new version of Kirk's fixed point theorem is given for asymptotic CONTRACTIONS and Boyd-Wong type CONTRACTIONS is investigated in uniform spaces.
